Peter Cat

Peter Cat is one of Kolkata's most iconic and beloved dining institutions, located on the historic Park Street. Since its founding in 1975 by Nitin Kothari, it has become a cultural landmark and a symbol of Kolkata’s unique culinary heritage.

A uniquely "Kolkata-hybrid" dish featuring a generous portion of fragrant, saffron-buttered basmati rice topped with a sunny-side-up fried egg. It is served with two succulent grilled kebabs (typically mutton seekh and chicken reshmi) and a large pat of butter that melts into the rice.
