Nizam's Restaurant is one of Kolkata's most iconic culinary landmarks, widely celebrated as the birthplace of the Kathi Roll.Located in the bustling New Market area (Esplanade), it has been a staple of the city’s food culture since the early 20th century.
Established around 1932 by Raza Hassan Saheb, the restaurant originally catered to British officials and local office-goers who enjoyed their kebabs but found them greasy and difficult to eat on the go.
