Legal Aid Service WB is a pioneering, non-political, state-level non-governmental organization (NGO) established in September 1980. Functioning as an organic collective of retired judges, practicing lawyers, and social activists, LASWEB focuses on empowering poor, vulnerable, and disadvantaged populations across West Bengal. Headquartered in Kalighat, Kolkata, the organization provides free legal aid, litigational support, pre-litigational family counseling, alternative dispute resolution (mediation/lok adalats), and hosts an affiliated Post Graduate Diploma Course in Guidance and Counseling under Calcutta University.
