Description

Hritaal Dance Centre is a Kolkata-based dance institution that bridges the gap between traditional Indian heritage and contemporary movement. Nurtured by director Jaydeep Palit, the academy focuses on simplicity, elegance, and deep emotional connection (Rasa) in its choreographies, making art accessible to all audiences. Beyond technical training, Hritaal promotes dance as a psychotherapeutic tool and frequently showcases grand cultural productions and events like Udbhavana and Rabindra Utsav.

Hritaal Dance Centre, located in Kolkata, is a premier creative dance academy dedicated to preserving and evolving the rich heritage of Indian culture. Inspired by the legendary maestro Uday Shankar, the center specializes in Indian Contemporary dance, seamlessly blending traditional Indian routines with modern techniques.

Under the artistic direction of renowned choreographer Jaydeep Palit, Hritaal nurtures dancers across generations through rigorous training, emotional expression, and innovative storytelling. The institution is highly regarded for its original dance-drama productions—such as Samatva (adapted from Tagore's Chandalika), Bansuri, and Khonj—as well as its exploration of Bengal's vibrant folk culture and dance therapy.
